r1ft.com is a creative outlet that serves in keeping dangerous violent video gamers off the streets and indoors, writing and ranting about topics no one really cares about. We can get very passionate about trivial things like game design and mechanics or why game X doesn’t have feature Y in it. We try not to remind ourselves that there are much more important things to worry about in the world and are content in our little bubble of self-importance, feigning ignorance to the real-world and other matters that would actually make a difference to our future generations.
With that said, though we enjoy our little secure life of gluttony and pursuit of higher entertainment, most of us secretly wish for some sort of apocalyptic event that would free us from our self-imposed digital prisons and 9-5 jobs. It is our inability to do so under our own free will that we struggle with on a regular basis.
Lead editor: Daniel, aka Daedren
Daniel is an ex-US military currently living in France. He works as a freelance security and IT consultant along with doing design and development work on gaming projects. His latest project is the official game design for the far-off Fallout MMO from Interplay.
Hobbies include fulfilling stereotypes of white people playing basketball, talking about how he could have been a better Anakin Skywalker than that other guy, and convincing his old friends from high school that, though he loves baguettes, he really isn’t French.
Daniel is also a freelance writer and has had articles published on various other advertisement ridden, sold-out gaming websites with mainly unoriginal content.
