You hit it right on the nose. I am trying to find another game that is set up like UO's pvp system. Nothing seems to compare. I would still be playing if the servers weren't so dead. UO was what YOU wanted it to be. Custom homes, templates and true skill (minus the gimp templates) to conquer your opponents.

Wish that warhammer would create some sort of housing system to store your items and call home.

you also forgot lineage2
since 4 years+ they have castles as capturable/siegable objectives for a guild
since around 3 years they have an aliance and war system
since 2 years they have a living guild system where the clan gets points/ clanskills based on their pvp kills
besides the point that leveling is hard and a boring grind, pvp is more or less gear/level/zerkbased and with a lot of imbalance between the classes the pvp is good

also i wouldnt knock out conan just yet

the combo system and action orientated fighting is a good evolvement from "point and wait" or "point and click" fighting but it can only be a base. seeing funcoms speed and willingness it maybe take another year bevore a good pvp system is developed on this promissing base.
i also liked the minigames aspect forcing teams of similar strength against each other.

what i like on war is that tons of brains went into pvp
im very exited about the game and will definitly test it.

Jindra,

You forgot some notable mentionables: Asherons Call, Shadowbane, Everquest PvP servers (Tallon Zek, Vallon Zek, Rallos, and Sullon Zek), Lord of the Rings Online Monster Play/Ettenmoors PvP zone. I know I forgot some titles here but these surely helped with the evolution of PvP. Many await Darkfall Online....which most likely will end up idling away in an IRC chat room.
I played pretty much all the titles you mentioned except EvE Online which I did not play because that they did not have avatars initially and it was sci fi, not medieval.
I pray that War delivers....too much money and time has been wasted in pursuit of this goal.
